Pioneer Park update for Haile and Wilton Parish Council
Work is continuing to progress on Pioneer Park, a proposed clean energy, technology and innovation development. The project is focused on building on West Cumbria’s strong industrial and nuclear heritage, helping to attract new investment, support new industries and create long-term opportunities for local people.
The vision for Pioneer Park is to create a high-quality site for clean energy production, advanced engineering, research and development, and digital and AI technologies. As the masterplan develops, the aim is to support economic growth across the area, including new jobs, skills and training opportunities, and wider benefits for local communities and businesses.

It also tells you more about the partners involved in the project and the current project timelines we’re working towards. This will be updated as work progresses.
Community engagement
A programme of community engagement will be launched this summer, which will include a mix of in-person events and online designed to give local residents, businesses and community groups early visibility of the plans, and a genuine opportunity to help shape how the scheme develops. Feedback gathered through this process will be used to inform the emerging masterplan and ensure it reflects local priorities.
Alongside this wider engagement, the project team would welcome the opportunity to attend a future Parish Council meeting to present the proposals in more detail and hear directly from members. If this is of interest, please let us know some dates for your upcoming meetings, and we can arrange for probably Steve to attend.
